1996, OTL developed a new safety climbing device. When replacing lamps on many tall towers, we came upon many unsafe broadcast antennas to climb. We suggested to tower owners to install a fall arrest system, made of aramid fibres, on their antennas. All the existing fall arrest systems are made of metal. Metal cannot be used in a RF environment. 1997, OTL joined another innovating corporation, CODE Electronics. OTL started selling the strobe lighting system made by CODE Electronics. The strobe lighting systems from CODE Electronics offered many extraordinary features not found in any other system. 2005, OTL started the development of the new generation of high intensity strobe systems. The new OTL high intensity strobe has a compact power supply located at the base of the tower. The power supply has all the electronics located in a stable environment. The flashhead has no electronics in it. The power supply and controller located in the shelter are easily accessible to a technician. 2010, OTL starts the development of the OTL LED beacon lamp. Once again OTL is innovating with the development of a new LED beacon lamp. OTL designs a new LED lamp for retrofitting the existent red flashing beacons. The new OTL LED beacon lamp will transform the existing beacon into a state of the art obstruction lighting system. The new OTL LED beacon lamp should hit the market in early 2011 (FAA approval is completed). |
